Neal Maupay will be hoping to advance to the ePremier League Invitational Grand Finals when he faces off against Clarets midfielder Dwight McNeil for a place in Saturday’s televised event.
The forward stylishly defeated John McGinn of Aston Villa 6-1 on Tuesday, before overcoming AFC Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing 4-2 yesterday.
“It’s been great so far and I’m glad the fans are enjoying it as well,” said Maupay.
“Philip provided really strong opposition, and Dwight will do the same. Glenn’s been in amazing form and he’s so good on the game mode we’re playing on.
“Eight goals in two games is amazing, hopefully he can keep on scoring – it would be great to reach the last four and be on the television this weekend.”
Key players…
Albion’s Neal Maupay will be looking for more goals against the Clarets. The striker found the net in the 6-1 win over Aston Villa, while Glenn Murray will no doubt be looking to add to his impressive eight-goal haul in the tournament after scoring all four of the side’s goal against AFC Bournemouth on Thursday.
Dwight McNeil beat Arsenal’s Josh Francheschi 3-1 on Thursday, after overcoming Ryan Fredericks of West Ham United in the first round on Tuesday.
The tournament final will feature in a live show on Sky Sports on Saturday 25th April, with the prize fund being donated to the #PlayersTogether initiative, which was created by Premier League players as a collective way of generating funds for the National Health Service and distributing them where they are needed most.
The semi-finals and final will be televised live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League at 3pm on Saturday 25th April.
