Alexis Mac Allister was delighted with Pervis Estupinanâs full debut after the Ecuadorean helped us make it three wins from our opening four games in the Premier League.
Mac Allister himself put in another superb performance in his new deeper midfield role, but the Argentine wanted to shine a light on his fellow South American.
The 23-year-old said, âPervis was really good on his first start for us. Itâs not easy to make your debut, especially at home in a tough match.
âLeeds ran a lot and we fought more than we played, but it was a really good match for him and hopefully he will bring a lot to our team. Heâs really good at attacking, heâs really fast and has good crosses. I think he showed that against Leeds and will keep getting even better.â
Estupinan joins Mac Allister and a host of other South Americans in our squad, with his fellow countrymen Moises Caicedo and Jeremy Sarmiento here alongside the likes Steven Alzate and Julio Enciso.
Itâs a home away from home for the Spanish speakers, who have formed great relationships off the pitch as well as on it.
Mac Allister said, âWeâre all helping him to settle in. The language here is not easy, so we can all be there for him. I donât think my English is fantastic but I can help him and we can all support him. Heâs happy here and thatâs the most important thing. Weâre looking forward to seeing more of him as the season develops.â
