This weekâs loan report is a little quieter than usual given the mid-season winter breaks taking place across a number of Europeâs leagues.
There was however plenty to report from the EFL, with five Albion players in action.
James Beadle was an unused substitute for his new loan club Sheffield Wednesday, as they lost 4-0 to Southampton, while Yasin Ayari also didnât come off the bench in Blackburnâs 4-1 defeat at West Brom â although Andrew Moran was on hand to provide the assist for Roversâ consolation goal.Â
Jeremy Sarmiento played for the final 22 minutes of Ipswich Townâs 2-1 win over Sunderland, having cut short his loan deal with West Brom to join the Tractor Boys earlier this month.
Carl Rushworthâs Swansea City drew 2-2 with Birmingham City in what marked former Albion coach Luke Williamsâs first league game in charge of the Swans, as well as Tony Mowbrayâs first match in the dugout for the Blues.
Marc Leonard played the full 90 minutes as Northampton Town continued their fine run of form that has seen them climb from 21st spot at the end of October to ninth. The Scottish midfielder has now made 77 appearances for the Cobblers across the 18 months he has spent on loan with them.Â
Ed Turns made his first League One appearance since the end of November as he came on for the final ten minutes of Leyton Orientâs shock 3-0 win over league leaders Portsmouth. That result propelled the Oâs up to tenth in the table.
INTERNATIONAL
Stuttgartâs first game back from the winter break in the Bundesliga didnât go to plan as they lost 3-1 away at Borussia Monchengladbach, with Deniz Undav unable to add to his tally of nine league goals this season despite playing the full 90 minutes.Â
Finally, Kacper Kozlowski played for 64 minutes in Vitesse Arnhemâs 0-0 draw with FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie.
