Albion were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup on Saturday when they were beaten 4-0 by Leeds United at the American Express Elite Performance Centre.
Albion started well and nearly cut Leeds open down the right after 12 minutes when Harry Lee played a lovely one-two with Remiero Moulton on the edge of the box before crossing, but Harry Howell was beaten to the ball by a Leeds defender.
Harry Mills then flashed an effort across the face of the Leeds goal, but it was the visitors who took the lead when Freddie Lane got in down the right and picked out Max McFadden who volleyed in from eight yards.
Harry Mills's first half effort was the closest Albion came to scoring.
The Whites looked likely to score again when Josh McDonald thumped an effort across goal before Lane shanked wide from a good position.
Leeds doubled their advantage on the hour mark. Rhys Chadwick thumped an effort against the crossbar from angle, with McFadden in the right place on the follow up to fire into the top left corner.
Zane Albarus looks to get Albion on the attack.
Albion looked to respond quickly and Howell pulled the ball across goal for Joe Belmont, but the cross was beyond the reach of the forward and the hosts were immediately punished.
Inigo Calderon’s team failed to clear their lines and Marley Wilson benefited as he rifled into the bottom corner to make it 3-0.
The game was over when Alfie Cresswell nodded in Leeds’ fourth with 15 minutes to play.
Albion under-18s are back in action next Saturday when they take on Tottenham in Premier League South.
