Brighton & Hove Albion are saddened to learn of the passing of former assistant manager Ken Craggs at the age of 85.
As Alan Mullery's number two, the pair oversaw Albion's climb from the Third Division in 1976/77 to the top flight in 1978/79.
He followed Mullery to Charlton Athletic in 1981 and was manager at the Valley when the Addicks signed former European Footballer of the Year Allan Simonsen.
Durham-born, Craggs headed back to the Goldstone Ground as a scout during Jimmy Melia's tenure and returned for a second scouting role when Brian Horton took over as manager, spending a further 15 months with the club.
During his scouting career, Ken also worked for Manchester City, Huddersfield Town and Hull City.
Our thoughts go out to Ken's family and friends at this sad time.
