Nora Heroum hopes her vast experience at international and club level can help Albion to continue their progress.
The 25-year-old has made over 70 appearances for Finland and played club football in three countries but she believes Albion can help her develop as a player.
She said, âI have played a lot of games already, both at club level and for Finland, but I think I can still develop a lot. I have had a good amount of experience with the national team, which I think is an advantage.
âI have heard only good things about Hope [Powell] as a coach. She wants to develop players and all my former coaches speak very highly of her. I am excited to see how she can help my game.â
Asked about her own style, Heroum said: âI am a technical player, I like to keep the ball moving â I would call myself a fighter, so I think I can definitely bring something to the team.â
Heroum played in Italy for both the Rossonere and Brescia, having started her career in her homeland with Finnish top-flight side HJK Helsinki.
After three years in Italy she is excited at the prospect of starting a new chapter in Sussex.
âItâs been good to meet the girls properly for the first time and start pre-season this week,â she added.
âI spent three years in Italy and it was time to try something else. The Womenâs Super League is a good division and Brighton are a good team. Iâm super-excited to be here.
âI have heard only good things about the club. I am just settling in, but I want to try and get into the team as quickly as possible and help the project. I want to give my best for the team.â
