Mikey Harris is delighted is delighted with the improvement his team have shown in front of goal in recent weeks, but believes they are capable of doing even better.
Albion are targeting a third successive away win in the Women’s Super League on Sunday when they take on West Ham United (3pm).
Back-to-back victories at Bristol City and Leicester City means Albion have scored 11 goals in their last three matches, having netted only 14 in their previous 14 WSL games.
Elisabeth Terland has scored half of their 24 league goals so far, but seven other players have also found the target.
“All our attacking players are building confidence and we’re starting to see that in games,” said Harris, our interim head coach. “We’re getting players into goalscoring positions and we work day in day out to create those high quality chances; we’ve definitely improved that in the last few weeks.”
Harris says the focus in training this week has been on being better in possession.
“I wasn’t overly pleased about our play with the ball against Leicester last week,” he added. “We are a lot better than we showed. The players agree. I was delighted with the resilience - it’s a fantastic trait to find a way to win difficult games away from home, but we feel we can improve in possession and we’ve worked hard this week to make sure we’re better in that regard on Sunday.
“Back to back wins is what we’re striving for. It’s been a really good week and hopefully that gets converted into a good performance against a good West Ham side.”
