With Fantasy Premier League managers trying to pick their best 15-man squad for the 2021/22 campaign, we take a closer look at the Albion players who may tick all the boxes.
It's worth noting that comparatively, Albion players are available fairly cheaply – Neal Maupay and Leandro Trossard are the most expensive, both priced at a very reasonable £6.5 million each – making them fantastic options for those in search of a low costing, high rewarding player.
A great option is between the sticks. Robert Sanchez costs just £4.5 million - £1.5 million less than the top costing goalkeepers. A return of 101 points in 27 Premier League was a strong showing from the Spaniard, ranking him 14th overall among goalkeepers last season.
Sanchez hasn't gone under the radar though, with over a third of managers naming him in their team in the first few hours of the game's launch.
With Albion's defenders, it's really a case of take your pick. Lewis Dunk had the highest return of any of Graham Potter's backline last season, with a fair amount of those 130 points down to his personal Premier League record return of five goals in a single campaign. That reflects in FPL's own rating system (ICT), ranking him as the second most threatening centre-back in the opposition box.
Costing £5 million, the Albion skipper is a great option, but Adam Webster, Joel Veltman and Ben White also represent superb value at just £4.5 million each.
Tariq Lamptey's return of just 35 points last season can be put down to the fact he only played 11 matches due to injury. At £4.5 million, he has proven to be an early favourite, being named in nearly 19% of squads.
In midfield, Belgium international Leandro Trossard was Albion's highest points scorer last season (132 points), and at £6.5 million, represents a real steal. Pascal Gross became the third highest German assister in Premier League history last season, and his price tag of £6.5 million reflects that. Taker of Albion's set pieces, the 30-year-old's eight assists last year, as well as being on penalty duties, means he’s another great option.
At just £4.5 million, it comes as little surprise to see Yves Bissouma a popular choice – the Mali international has been selected by 14.7% of players. Jakub Moder’s price tag of just £4.5 million surely also makes him an ideal pick for those looking at the cheaper end of the midfield price range.
Adam Lallana is valued at £5.5 million this season, while fans of Solly March have been caught out by him being listed as a midfielder rather than a defender so not benefitting from the clean sheet bonus that defenders enjoy.
Finally, it’s the strikers. Neal Maupay’s £6.5 million tag represents a very good points-per-million return. If we take Harry Kane’s return of 242 points last season and the striker’s current cost of £12.5 million, you’re looking at a return of 19.36 points-per-million. Maupay bagged 102 points last year, and his current cost sees that return 16.15 points-per-million. He’s certainly one to take into consideration if you’re looking for a strong, but cheaper option up front.
