Roberto De Zerbi hopes Leandro Trossard can become the club’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League.
But the Italian says Trossard’s contribution to the team will be as important as his output in front of goal.
The Belgian already has five goals this season, including his hat-trick at Liverpool in Albion’s previous away game.
That took him onto 23, two short of equalling Glenn Murray’s record, and included the late winner when Albion last visited tonight’s opponents Brentford.
“I hope [he breaks the record] and I want to help him, because if he can score more goals he helps his team,” said De Zerbi.

**“**Leo is one of the best players in the team. I always want better and better, and more and more. I think he can score more goals, but I don’t want his only focus to be on the goals.
“Against Liverpool he scored three goals but against Tottenham he didn’t score once. I want him to play well, that’s the first thing, play well for the first team then we look at the goals.”
Albion have only lost once on the road this season and did the double over Thomas Frank’s Bees last season.
Asked about maintaining consistent form on the road the Italian added, “It’s important, but the most important thing is to try to be in the right condition to win every game.
“After the game, we will look at the result and we can speak and analyse the game. But first we have to think about how to make the conditions to win the game.”
