Moises Caicedo made his Premier League debut in the 2-1 win at the Emirates last season.

Roberto De Zerbi says he struggles to find fault with Moises Caicedo’s game both in and out of possession.

The Ecuador international has been one of the first names on the teamsheet since his debut in April and has impressed his new head coach.

"Caicedo is a top player with and without the ball,” Roberto said. “There are many players in the world who are very good with the ball but without it in defensive spaces are not so good.

“Others in the defensive space are top but with the ball, there are some problems.

“With Caicedo, I don’t see anything not at the top level. And he is only 20, he is very young, so he can learn and improve more. He has no limit.”

Alongside the other Albion midfielders, De Zerbi wants to see Moises help his team build attacks in a different way to what we’ve become accustomed to under Graham Potter.

"I don’t want to change too much because I like the players, I like this style of play without the ball for sure. With the ball I’m working to change something, the position on the pitch - like changing [the roles of] Caicedo, Mac Allister, Lallana and Gross.

“It’s difficult to speak about four games, I have my vision, we take only two points. Lucky or unlucky, I don’t want to speak too much about this. if we want to speak about the quality of player in the game, I’m very happy.

“It’s difficult when a coach says they’re happy about their team’s performance when they didn’t win, but it’s like this."
