Levi Colwill hopes that his performances against Arsenal and Aston Villa have given Roberto De Zerbi food for thought.
The 19-year-old started back-to-back games for the first time since joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer and impressed at the heart of defence.
âI am trying to give them [the coaching staff] a selection problem, thatâs what every player wants to do. The coaching staff want all their players to want to play. Every time I get a chance I need to try and take it with two hands and keep working hard.
âItâs been tough so far, but Iâve enjoyed every minute. The manager gave me my chance on Sunday which I am grateful for.
âThe tough aspect has been learning new playing styles, a new manager coming in, things like that. But itâs going to help me in the future so I canât complain.
âOnce you get your head around how the new manager wants to play, it helps you understand why he does it and how it works. Youâve got to respect it.â
Levi was frustrated with his performance against Villa though and reckons heâs got a lot more to give.
âWe should have got the three points, 100 per cent. We played good football at times, we just werenât clinical enough, I missed a chance at the end - things like that make a big difference.
âIt was a frustrating game [against Villa]. They came to do a job which was to get a point or three, which they did. Personally, it was my first start, I could have done so much better at times so overall it was a disappointing day.â
