Everyone at the club was sorry to hear that our former womenâs first-team kit manager Maurice âMoâ Bane died recently.
As well as his duties with the womenâs team during our early years in the WSL, Mo also worked as a steward at the Amex, and on matchdays he operated in and around the Albion technical area.
Former womenâs first-team head coach Hope Powell led the tributes to Mo.
âI first got to know Mo when he became kit man for the womenâs team at the club,â said Hope. âHe was such a bubbly character and was always willing to help the players and generous in every way. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him at the club.â
Adrian Morris, Head of Safety and Security said, âMo started as a match day steward in August 2011 and soon become an integral part of the clubâs match day operation. He progressed rapidly to assist with the tunnel and dugout area and was then promoted to Supervisor on the West Lower, where he gained much respect from staff and fans alike.Â
âMo also took on additional duties and worked alongside the Safety and Security team in assisting them with other roles outside of match day, including working within our security teams both here at the Amex and at the training ground at Lancing.Â
âHis work ethic and cheery demeanour made him a very popular member of staff with everyone that worked alongside him. All his colleagues in the Safety and Security team are shocked at the news as he will be greatly missed.â
