Just like the Albion, Piglets Pantry have gone from strength to strength during the last decade.

Owner Jo Hunter started her artisan bakery in Shoreham in April 2010 and a chance encounter with an Albion director in April 2011 led to her company becoming the club’s matchday pie supplier.

Jo said, “I was buying season tickets for my sons and I asked one of the directors if the club would be working with local businesses when the Amex was opened and could Piglets be involved.

“We didn’t know it at the time but it changed our lives forever. After meeting the Catering Manager and following lots of tastings we were chosen, a major achievement for a company that was in its infancy.”

For the first game at the Amex – a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur – Piglets supplied 1,500 pies, some of which were baked at the Amex. They had sold out after ten minutes and the club immediately upped the order to 2,500.

Piglets Pantry are celebrating their 10th anniversary.

“It was impossible not to get caught up in the passion from all the Albion fans,” said Jo. “It still gives me goose bumps even now when I remember that first match at the new ground. It’s a day I will never forget.”

As attendances increased and the club won promotion to the Premier League, so the popularity of Piglets pies grew. Now they produce 10,000 products for a home match and the company has gone from strength to strength. They have won 34 industry awards including best pie in football at the British Pie Awards. Celebrity chefs Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood are among their fans and they now supply to 67 clients across the UK in many sports from their premises in Worthing.

Even the coronavirus hasn’t dampened the Piglets spirit. They have launched an online delivery service and Albion fans can now help them celebrate by claiming their 10% discount.

Jo added, “I would like to say a personal thank you to all our clients, customers, fans and employees for all your support over the past 10 years. We look forward to the next ten years and the further opportunities this will bring.”
