Albion striker Ellie Brazil will miss the rest of the season after she suffered a medial meniscus tear in her right knee while on England under-23 duty.
The 23-year-old, who has made 60 WSL appearances for the club, will have surgery this week and be out for 6-12 weeks but should be fit for the start of next season.
Head coach Hope Powell said, “Ellie did so well to recover from the serious knee injury she suffered in 2019 and her performances this season have been really consistent.
“It’s a real blow to lose her for the rest of the season. But she is such a determined person and I know that she will commit 100% to her rehab and she’ll have the support of all her teammates and everyone else at the club. We look forward to having her with us again in pre-season.”
Albion are back in WSL action this Saturday when they take on Birmingham City at the People's Pension Stadium, kick off 2pm.
