James Beadle made his professional debut on Tuesday night and our on-loan keeper kept a clean sheet for Crewe in their goalless draw with Walsall.
The 18-year-old joined the Railwaymen in January for the rest of the season, biding his time on the bench for six games before being handed his first start at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
The former Charlton keeper denied Isaac Hutchinson with his feet, before keeping out Jamille Matt’s volley with a smart dive to his left.
Hutchinson’s low drive late on was a straightforward one to deal with as Crewe maintained their spot in lower mid-table.
The England Under-18 international will now be aiming to make his home debut this Saturday when Crewe take on bottom of the table Rochdale.
