Having not scored for Albion since December 2024, Mats Wieffer's double earns us a thoroughly deserved win at Turf Moor.

Zian Flemming gets a nice low strike away from the very far side of the Albion box, sending it towards the bottom left corner, but Bart Verbruggen does a good job to tip it wide for a corner.

Kaoru Mitoma replaces Yankuba Minteh.

A double change for Albion as Danny Welbeck and Jack Hinshelwood are replaced by Georginio Rutter and Carlos Baleba.

Jack Hinshelwood nearly passed the ball into the bottom left corner from Yankuba Minteh's pass, but Martin Dubravka tips it away at full stretch!

Pascal Gross plays a terrific ball down the left for Yankuba Minteh and he does just as well to find Danny Welbeck free 15 yards from the target. He lines up his shot, but Quilindschy Hartman reads the danger and blocks the shot superbly.

Burnley looked as if they'd equalised there as Zian Flemming swivelled and struck at goal from eight yards, but Verbruggen gets an outstretched leg on it to stop it crossing the line.

Jaidon Anthony should shoot as he works some space on the edge of the box, but he sort of panics and passes the ball to Marcus Edwards on the right. He has his shot-cross tipped over by Bart Verbruggen.

Ferdi lines one up from about 25 yards and smashes it a couple of yards over the Burnley goal.

Bashir Humphreys is ruled offside as he rifles in from James Ward-Prowse's free-kick. The flag goes up for offside and watching back the replay, it looks as if Humphreys is played on by Jack Hinshelwood. VAR takes a closer look and agrees with the onfield decision, no goal. That must be millimetres.

Jaidon Anthony gets the better of Mats Wieffer down the Albion right. Jan Paul van Hecke comes across and basically takes him out. JP is booked and Burnley have a free-kick right beside the corner of the box.

The Clarets get the second half started. Having had a brief spell of sun, it's now raining again.

Gross's cross is headed back across goal by Gomez, Welbeck is stopped from tapping in and Hinshelwood's swivel and shot rolls wide of the target. Burnley look vulnerable.

Albion fans chant 'that's why you're going down', as Florentino's strike from 20 yards goes comfortably wide to the right of goal. Ugochukwu then gets forward - the run actually starts in his own half - but he arrives in the box and then just slices it into the away crowd. Terrible strike.

Jack Hinshelwood gets a whack to the head by Lesley Ugochukwu as the two sort of ran into each other. Jack needs treatment but is fine to continue.

Esteve dives in on Gomez. He's a bit high and catches the Paraguayan on the top of his boot. It's not a great tackle. The Burnley captain is booked and we've got a free-kick about 27 yards from the Burnley goal.

The Burnley keeper takes a goal kick but gives it straight to Diego Gomez on the halfway line and he finds Jack Hinshelwood. Jack quickly picks out Yankuba Minteh bursting into the box, but he takes too long to find an angle to shoot from and has his effort blocked. Martin Dubravka then rushes off his line to punch clear but then goes down holding his face. Not sure who caught him. Free-kick to Burnley either way.

That's a glorious chance. Jack Hinshelwood gets to the by-line and pulls it back across goal. Yankuba Minteh is there with the goal at his mercy, but fluffs his first time strike and the chance goes begging! Both Minteh and Danny Welbeck should have scored now.

Albion are only level thanks to a point-blank range save from Bart Verbruggen. James Ward-Prowse finds Jaidon Anthony from a corner, with the winger able to poke at goal from two yards out, but somehow Bart gets his leg in the way to put it behind for another corner. Thank you, Bart.

Jaidon Anthony slots the ball into the bottom right corner, but the flag goes up. To the naked eye it looked well off, but watching it back, it's a lot tighter with Ferdi Kadioglu a bit deeper than everyone else. Not much in that at all.

Minteh finds the striker with a lovely low cross into the box, but he gets his contact wrong as he tries to put it away first time! The ball bounces straight into Dubravka's hands, when it should be in the back of the net.

Yankuba Minteh is well found by Ferdi Kadioglu, but his low cross is easy for the Burnley to gather. A header back towards his own keeper from Hjalmar Ekdal though is a horrible one to deal with, but Dubravka superbly heads it away with the stopper unable to use his hands without giving away an indirect free-kick.

The players make their way out onto the pitch, just as the rain begins to pour. It looked as if it was going to be sunny. It's definitely not at the moment.

Fabian Hurzeler is confident his team can cope without suspended Lewis Dunk this afternoon, with the head coach also absent from the touchline after his accumulation of yellow cards. "I think we have a lot of other leaders who can solve problems on and off the pitch. "Regarding me, we already had a situation against Brentford where my staff did an incredible job and won that game. "Regarding Lewis, of course he has played unbelievably well in the last weeks. But also we showed that we have a lot of options to replace him. We showed that we have really good options to replace him. "I'm quite confident that the team is strong enough to handle these things, so that I can give them a lot of responsibility on the pitch. And they have proved that in the season so far that they can handle it."
