Member behaviour policy

We invite all 1901 Club members and guests to relax, socialise and enjoy all of the benefits of being a 1901 Club member in a safe and comfortable environment. We would ask for your support in helping us maintain the following behavioural guidelines.

The 1901 Club will not tolerate:

  • Foul language
  • Drunkenness
  • Intentionally sitting in the seats of other members
  • Any form of abuse, both physical and verbal
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Damage to property
  • Fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any form of discrimination
  • Any breach of the ground rules

Any persons who engage in this type of behaviour will be removed from the club and the American Express Community Stadium. Depending on the severity of the behaviour, this may incur suspension of membership and exclusion of the individual concerned. Members are responsible for the behaviour of their guests. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that their guests are aware of the club’s policies and procedures. Please advise your nearest safety steward or 1901 Club staff member of any inappropriate behaviour and we will take action to address the issue.

Where would I find my seat details?

Each 1901 Club member is allocated a membership card with a membership number, which relates to a seat or number of seats and the use of a specified lounge. Only the member, or a person authorised by the member, is permitted to use these seats or the lounge. It is expected that all members and guests respect this exclusive use and only occupy the seat specified on their membership card. It is an expectation of the club that all minors are supervised at all times and informed of this club rule by the responsible adult.

What do I do if I lose my membership card?

We request that you take all necessary precautions to protect your membership cards and keep them in a secure place. As a precaution, when issuing cards to your guest(s) we recommend that you record the seat details next to your guest(s) name to avoid difficulties. In the event that a card is lost or stolen, the member is to notify the 1901 Club as soon as possible. A discretional fee applies for replacement of membership cards and lanyards, regardless of the number lost.

To prevent unauthorised entry to the venue, the lost cards will be de-activated once reported lost or stolen.

How do I transfer my ticket to a match to another person or guest?

Under the terms and conditions of your 1901 Club licence your card is transferable to family, friends, colleagues or clients. This service is only accessible to 1901 Club members and does not involve any financial transfer.

There are two ways members can transfer their cards – by passing them over prior to the match or by using the ticket transfer tool on this site https://bhafc.fgb-myaccount.com/login/loginbrighton.aspx. For security reasons, and to avoid the difficulties of getting cards returned from guests, it is recommended that the member should keep hold of the card and use the portal to transfer your ticket(s).

Log-in to the fan portal and use your Fan Number and password to transfer and forward seats by email. Once it is accepted, and e-tickets are printed, the card will be blocked for entry. This will allow others to use the e-ticket to gain access without the member having to be there or pass on their card(s) and lanyard(s). This system will allow others to print tickets from anywhere which has access to the internet.

This e-ticket takes the place of the 1901 Club smartcard and can be scanned upon arrival to allow entry to the stadium and 1901 Club facilities.

I qualify for or have purchased a parking space – what are the details?

Members who have purchased a parking space will be issued with one seasonal parking permit prior to the opening fixture of the relevant season. Members who wish to pass on their parking permit once they have transferred their tickets may do so, but are reminded that it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that they reclaim the parking pass as there will be no opportunity to issue duplicates for lost or forgotten permits. Members who do not display the correct permit will not be granted access to the car park and will be turned away, as the stewarding controls are on the public highway where there are parking restrictions. The permits should be very clearly displayed in the windscreens of members’ vehicles so that stewards can see them without needing to stop vehicles entering the car park. There are disabled car parking spaces located in the Sussex University and Bridge car parks. These must be booked in advance by contacting the Brighton & Hove Albion Booking Line on 0844 327 1901.

I've lost my parking permit

In the event that a permit is lost or stolen, the member is to notify the 1901 Club as soon as possible. A £15 pro rata fee per game will be applied and charged for a replacement permit.

We request that you take all necessary precautions to protect your membership cards/permits and keep them in a secure place. As a precaution, when issuing cards to your guest(s) we recommend that you record the seat details next to your guest(s) name to avoid difficulties.

What are the lounge opening times?

Lounges open 2 hours 30 minutes before scheduled kick-off time and close 2 hours after full time of the day's match.

How long before the match is food served in the hospitality areas?

Food is served as and when you are seated. We advise members and guests who are dining to arrive when the lounges open (2 hours 30 minutes before kick-off).

Where can I arrange to be picked up and dropped off?

At the stadium entrance in Village Way South at the official drop-off point.

How can I update my 1901 Club membership details?

Account details such as address, name, telephone number and email address can all be easily updated by emailing with your membership number and the updated details or by calling 01273 878 278.

You can update your bank details by downloading this direct debit form, filling out in full and returning to your account manager by email or post.

If you wish to transfer ownership of your 1901 Club membership please contact a member of the team on 01273 878 278. Note the club is not obligated to take back your 1901 Club membership whilst in a term of commitment.

Which hospitality lounges can I use?

Entry to the 1901 Club is by membership card and entry to the lounge is controlled by your coloured lanyard. There will be no access to any of the other lounges pre-match or at half-time. 1901 Club members are allowed access to other 1901 Club lounges up to 15 minutes after the match.

What matches are included in my 1901 Club membership?

Your 1901 Club membership includes all BHAFC first team league and domestic cup games; all the games are automatically loaded on to your card/s. Occasionally we may make other games available on a complimentary basis and this will be communicated to you from time to time. Your 1901 Club membership does not include friendlies.

As a 1901 Club member you will also receive priority purchasing rights to your seat for other events hosted here at the stadium such as concerts and sporting events. These are subject to the rates set by the event organisers and the club will contact you with details of these events.

As a 1901 Club member can I bring a guest/s to a match?

Yes – to bring a guest into the 1901 Club, if not using another membership that you own, you will need to purchase a matchday hospitality package for them. For more information on how to book these packages please contact us using the online enquiry form.

May I bring guests who support away teams?

Your hospitality facility and match seats are in a BHAFC home area. Please ensure guests refrain from wearing away club colours including scarves, or be seen openly supporting the away team as they will be liable to be refused entry to the stadium or ejected without compensation.

Do you have to be a member or season ticket holder to purchase matchday hospitality?

No, matchday hospitality tickets are available for purchase by everyone. However, these are limited and we operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

How far in advance can I purchase matchday hospitality?

Matchday hospitality will be available to purchase 4–7 weeks in advance of each game. A list of dates for when each game goes on sale can be found in the Commercial Brochure, on pages 36 & 37. To avoid disappointment, once hospitality for your particular game of interest has gone live, we recommend getting in touch as soon as possible as it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You can book your hospitality package by calling 01273 878278.

Is there anywhere to smoke during the match?

In accordance with Smokefree England, it is against the law to smoke anywhere inside the stadium at the Amex. On a matchday there are designated smoking areas outside of the stadium but please be advised there is no re-admittance once you have entered the ground.

Do I qualify for a concession due to my age?

Brighton & Hove Albion offer concession pricing in a number of areas around the Amex. There are no concessions in the 1901 Club membership.

What happens if I'm turned away on a matchday for not adhering to the dress code?

We encourage all members and their guests to remind themselves of the 1901 Club dress code, as failure to adhere to this will result in refused entry on matchdays.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to re-seat 1901 Club members or their guests in general admission areas of the stadium if refused admission to the 1901 Club.
