Purpose

Brighton & Hove Albion is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and respects the beliefs of all communities.

Under our “Albion as One” initiative, we will acknowledge and celebrate major religious festivals and events throughout the year, in line with The FA’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion calendar.

  • Promote understanding and respect for all faiths among staff, players and supporters.
  • Ensure our messaging reflects compassion, solidarity and unity.

Faith Calendar

We will maintain and regularly update a calendar of major religious observances, including but not limited to Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism and others. See below.

Meaning the Day of Atonement. It is celebrated ten days after Rosh Hashanah.

8 NOV 2026 Diwali Deepavali & Bandi Chhor Divas

Hinduism & Sikhism

A celebration and festival including fireworks and lamps symbolically marking triumph of light over dark.

4-12  DEC 2026 Chanukah

Judaism

Chanukah is an 8-day winter “festival of lights,” which begins each year on the 25th day of the Jewish calendar month of Kislev.

25 DEC 2026 Christmas Day

Christianity

Held on the 25th of December commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.

All social media channels will continue to be monitored for inappropriate or discriminatory comments. Any antisemitic, Islamophobic, or other hate-based remarks will be removed promptly in line with our zero-tolerance policy, and reported to appropriate authorities for further action.
