We’re currently looking for hosts who would be able to accommodate players between the ages of 14-21, on both a full or part-time basis, from the boys and girls academies.
During a player's time with us, it’s likely that they'll spend long periods of time away from home and we’d love to hear from people who live from Lancing to Brighton that would be interested in caring for our boys and girls academy players. It’s important that we have families who can support and nurture young players, during what can initially be a big move away from the environment in which they're comfortable.
Our host families play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the player, both as a footballer and as a person. The role is hugely important in underpinning our TEAAM Brighton values and club culture, as well as supporting the social and emotional development of all players.
To help support this, during your time as a host family we’ll provide you with all the training and advice that you need to best support the young people in your care.
All applicants will be required to undergo a full application process with our club staff, including a satisfactory enhanced DBS Criminal Record Check before a decision can be made as to suitability.
All host families will be financially compensated during the placement of any players.
Hear from one of our current host families
“We’ve had the pleasure of hosting some lovely lads over the last six years from all over the world; English, Icelandic, Polish, Lithuanian and many more. The academy here in Lancing offers these young elite athletes world class facilities and to be part of their development is exciting and rewarding.
During their time with us they become part of the family, and we remain in contact with them all and follow their football career and life in general. It is our duty of care to support and guide these young men in all aspects of their development, life skills, such as cleaning and cooking which will enable them to live independently when the time comes.”
